Inchgower Aged 38 Years

Bottle #342/432, 1965/2003, 50.4% (Douglas Laing Old & Rare Platinum Collection)

This I tasted at Pikkulintu few days ago and I just have to say this is brilliant whisky. Sherry through and through. The colour itself was very tasty looking: very dark amber, like a painting. First nosing was pure sherry and then oaky, woody, fruity, winey, oranges, praline, honey aromas. Then a sip and the sherriness just continued. After a while some winey, oaky, honey, fruity and butterscotch. And butter. Finish and aftertaste were long, sweetish and sherry. A splash of water brought honey and butterscotch up. Points: n 23p + t 24p + f/a 24p + b 24 = 95 points (rating 9.5). Recommended.
